APSEN AND TELETON JOINED IN SOLIDARITY
This is a partnership between Apsen and Teleton, a project of AACD (Association for Supporting Handicapped Children), by which a share of our monthly revenues coming from drug marketing is intended for the project, transforming profits into citizenship.
What does TELETON mean?
This is a national project, especially developed for funding raise, with the purpose of treating those bearing a physical deficiency. The project is a unique event among those of the same category, aiming to make the population aware of the capabilities of those bearing a physical deficiency. This is a continuous 24 hours show, through national television network, together with several other media vehicles, such as radio magazines, and newspapers.
TELETON WORLWIDE
Nowadays, more than 20 countries worldwide perform TELETON, always with the same purpose of helping those physical handicapped in need. In Latin America, the event is performed in Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, Colombia, and Bolivia; in Central America, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala; and also in Mexico, North America. In August 1998, representatives of seven countries attained the 1st Meeting of Continental TELETON, with the objective of organizing the ORITEL, an international organization to carry out the interchange of information among the participating countries ease.
ORITEL
With headquarters in Chile, ORITEL carried out, in the year 2000, the Americaton, an event where all the continental countries performed a TELETON, all together in the same day. Meet the ORITEL participating countries:
How TELETON was born in AACD?
At AACD, TELETON was created from the need of building new centers for rehabilitation in Brazilian States, aiming to take care of needy patients.
For more than 10 years, the entity asks for the support of the media to carry out this show, which first realization happened in Brazil in 1998.
Here, TELETON may be exclusively carried out by AACD and the financial results are also exclusively directed toward the maintenance and construction of centers for rehabilitation.
